Here We Go!!!

It is raining here in Northern Virginia, which means I probably have less than 5 minutes to write my first post before a migraine ensues!!! This is my first post for the 'Women's International Hemiplegic Migraine' Group blog! I'm so excited! I have thought about this for awhile and decided to take a leap of faith and try out this blog thing!

My main goal for our website/blog is to provide more support to women with this debilitating disorder. I also want to spread more awareness and education about hemiplegic migraine. So many women in our Facebook group write about their negative experiences in the ER...doctors and nurses not understanding what our disease is and how to treat it. We also struggle with our friends and family not understanding the disease. I would like to encourage you to have your friends and family members join our website to learn more about hemiplegic migraine. This is just the beginning! Thank you for joining!
